* To make any skydive you must be at least 18 years of age.

Montana Skydiving suggests this method for your first skydive. Tandem skydives are very popular because they require minimal training (usually less than an hour), and maintain the highest degree of safety. You will be harnessed to your instructor during the entire skydive, so you are free to simply enjoy your skydive! Your jump will include approximately 70 seconds of freefall, followed by a canopy ride that lasts anywhere from 7 to 9 minutes. You will be encouraged to steer the parachute. You may also request to do flips and turns (steer yourself) in freefall! We highly recommend this method of enjoying your first skydive!

AFF is the most advanced method of training individuals to skydive. Before your first jump you will attend a 4 to 6 hour training class that will teach you the fundamentals of skydiving. Your jump is made in the company of two USPA rated AFF Jump masters who provide direct assistance during the exit and freefall. You will have the opportunity to deploy your pilot chute, which will release your main canopy. Once your parachute is deployed, you will (with radio assistance) control a solo parachute descent back to the drop zone.

To make your first Jump, wear casual clothes suitable for outdoor activity at the temperatures forecast for the day. For the warm months, shorts or jeans, lightweight shirt, and tennis shoes are fine. In the winter we jump in temperatures as low as the mid 30's on the ground. The airplanes are heated, a sweatshirt or long sleeve warm shirt, jeans, lightweight gloves, and tennis shoes are usually sufficient. On all your student training jumps ASC will provide a jumpsuit, goggles, headgear, and altimeter.

We encourage you to bring your friends, cameras, and picnic lunches. Children are welcome if they are supervised while you are making your jumps.
